Par ailleurs, il a \u00e9t\u00e9 d\u00e9montr\u00e9 que la m\u00e9ditation ne profite pas seulement aux fonctions cognitives sup\u00e9rieures, mais modifie \u00e9galement l\u2019activit\u00e9 c\u00e9r\u00e9brale. N\u00e9anmoins, on ignore encore tout ou presque des liens potentiels avec la structure du cerveau. \u00c0 partir de donn\u00e9es d\u2019IRM haute r\u00e9solution recueillies aupr\u00e8s de 44 sujets, nous avons cherch\u00e9 \u00e0 examiner les corr\u00e9lats anatomiques sous-jacents de la m\u00e9ditation \u00e0 long terme, en tenant compte de diff\u00e9rentes sp\u00e9cificit\u00e9s r\u00e9gionales (c.-\u00e0-d. globale, r\u00e9gionale et locale). \u00c0 cette fin, nous avons appliqu\u00e9 la morphom\u00e9trie bas\u00e9e sur les voxels, associ\u00e9e \u00e0 une approche de parcellisation automatis\u00e9e r\u00e9cemment valid\u00e9e. Nous avons d\u00e9tect\u00e9 chez les m\u00e9ditants des volumes de substance grise significativement plus importants dans le cortex orbito-frontal droit (ainsi que dans le thalamus droit et le gyrus temporal inf\u00e9rieur gauche, lorsque nous prenions en compte l\u2019\u00e2ge et\/ou abaissions les seuils statistiques appliqu\u00e9s). De plus, les m\u00e9ditants pr\u00e9sentaient des volumes significativement plus importants de l\u2019hippocampe droit. Les r\u00e9gions orbito-frontales et hippocampiques sont toutes deux impliqu\u00e9es dans la r\u00e9gulation \u00e9motionnelle et le contr\u00f4le de la r\u00e9ponse. Ainsi, des volumes plus importants dans ces r\u00e9gions pourraient expliquer la capacit\u00e9 et l\u2019habitude singuli\u00e8res des m\u00e9ditants \u00e0 cultiver des \u00e9motions positives, \u00e0 conserver une stabilit\u00e9 \u00e9motionnelle et \u00e0 adopter un comportement attentif. Nous sugg\u00e9rons en outre que ces modifications r\u00e9gionales dans les structures c\u00e9r\u00e9brales constituent une partie du corr\u00e9lat neurologique sous-jacent de la m\u00e9ditation \u00e0 long terme, ind\u00e9pendamment d\u2019un style ou d\u2019une pratique sp\u00e9cifiques. De futures analyses longitudinales seront n\u00e9cessaires pour confirmer l\u2019existence, et d\u00e9terminer la direction, d\u2019un lien de causalit\u00e9 entre la pratique de la m\u00e9ditation et
