Potenzielle Anti-Aging-Effekte von Langzeitmeditation auf die Atrophie der grauen Substanz<\/h1><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-uagb-container uagb-block-bf846846 alignfull uagb-is-root-container\"><div class=\"uagb-container-inner-blocks-wrap\">\n<p>Seit 1970 ist die Lebenserwartung weltweit dramatisch gestiegen, und die Menschen leben im Durchschnitt \u00fcber zehn Jahre l\u00e4nger. Das sind die guten Nachrichten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die schlechte Nachricht: Ab Mitte\/Ende 20 beginnt das Gehirn zu schrumpfen \u2013 sein Volumen und sein Gewicht nehmen ab. Infolgedessen kann das Gehirn einige seiner funktionellen F\u00e4higkeiten verlieren.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Obwohl die Menschen also l\u00e4nger leben, gehen die hinzugewonnenen Jahre h\u00e4ufig mit einem erh\u00f6hten Risiko f\u00fcr psychische Erkrankungen und neurodegenerative Leiden einher.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Gl\u00fccklicherweise zeigt eine neue Studie, dass Meditation eine M\u00f6glichkeit sein k\u00f6nnte, diese Risiken zu verringern.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aufbauend auf fr\u00fcheren Arbeiten, in denen bereits darauf hingewiesen wurde, dass Menschen, die meditieren, weniger altersbedingte Abbauprozesse in der wei\u00dfen Hirnsubstanz aufweisen, haben Forscherinnen und Forscher der University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) in dieser neuen Studie festgestellt, dass Meditation offenbar auch dazu beitr\u00e4gt, die neuronentragende graue Substanz des Gehirns zu erhalten.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Die Wissenschaftlerinnen und Wissenschaftler untersuchten speziell den Zusammenhang zwischen Alter und grauer Substanz. Sie verglichen 50 Personen, die \u00fcber Jahre hinweg meditiert hatten, mit 50 Personen, die keine Meditation praktizierten. In beiden Gruppen zeigte sich eine Abnahme der grauen Substanz im Laufe des Alterns.
